Observer Dion Cautrell wrote in with a short note to say his 2 GHz dual processor Power Mac G5 order has been delayed by almost a month. According to Mr. Cautrell, his order was originally supposed to ship today, but that the shipping date was pushed back late yesterday evening. From Mr. Cautrell:
Just a note to let you know the shipping date for my DP G5 has been pushed back from "On or before 08/29/03" to "On or before 09/26/03." The change just occurred [late Thursday night].
Love the site. Keep up the great work . . .

Apple spokespersons were not available as of press time to offer comment for this story.
Earlier this month, Apple announced that the Power Mac G5 was shipping, starting with the 1.6 GHz and 1.8 GHz configurations. Two weeks before that, Forbes reported that an Apple exec had said the company was on time to ship all orders for the G5 in August.
Without confirmation from Apple, it is impossible to know if Mr. Cautrell's note is indicative of the status of all DP G5s, or just his order. Anyone else who has ordered a 2 GHz DP Power Mac G5 is encouraged to let us know the status of their orders. Drop a note in the comments below, or write to us.
