Apple Releases 10.2.8 Update, Again (Updated)

[Update 4:18 CDT: TMO has received a statement from Apple concerning the new Mac OS X 10.2.8 update. The statement addresses the previous issues mentioned in the original article below. From Apple:
Apple has posted a new release of Mac OS X version 10.2.8 which includes an updated ethernet driver for 450/500Mhz dual-processor Power Mac G4 systems. It also includes an updated battery status menu to reflect the remaining battery life on PowerBook systems.
Mac OS X version 10.2.8 is now available via Software Update. In addition, it is also now available for Power Mac G5 customers.
Apple has released a new version of the Mac OS X 10.2.8 update today through Software Update Control Panel. Apple originally released the update on the 22nd of September, only to pull it a day later due to networking problems experienced by many users. The company published a KnowledgeBase article explaining the problems, but today's release makes no mention of the past issues. The description of the update reads the same as the original update. From that description:
The 10.2.8 Update (Build 6R73) delivers enhanced functionality and improved reliability for the following applications, services and technologies: Audio, Bluetooth, Classic compatibility, Finder, Graphics, LDAP, Power Management, Safari, and FireWire and USB device compatibility. It also includes an updated ethernet driver for 450MHz and 500MHz dual processor Power Mac G4 desktop systems and an update to the battery status menu.
The update also provides updated security services and includes the latest Security Updates.
The KnowledgeBase article for the new version of the update includes the following note:
Important : This update works only with PowerPC G3- and G4-based desktop and portable computers, including Power Macintosh G3, Power Mac G4, PowerBook G3, PowerBook G4, iMac, eMac, and iBook. It does not work with Power Mac G5 computers. [Emphasis added]
