"After a lower-than-expected turnout in New York in July, IDG Expo said it would bring MacWorld's summer edition back to Boston, its traditional home. At the time, IDG Expo said a Boston location would draw more software developers and other specialists.
But citing the improved financial condition of the maker of Macintosh computers, Apple Computer Inc., IDG Expo officials now expect a larger turnout for the summer convention. As a result, the most appropriate venue for the event may be a single, large venue like New York's Jacob Javits Center, say people familiar with IDG Expo's thinking."
Last year's show was panned by attendees who preferred the Boston setup although vendors liked the New York venue because the show is much more centralized.
