Apple released iBooks Author 2.3 Tuesday, an update that allows the software to make ebooks that can be read on an iPhone. The company did so by adding two new ePub templates that work with iPhone.
iBooks Author was originally released to create ebooks specifically for iBooks for iPad and then Mac. Ebooks made from those templates didn't function fully on iPhone, however.
Apple's patch notes:
What's New in Version 2.3
- iBooks for iPhone now supports books made with iBooks Author
- Create Multi-Touch books using new ePub templates
iBooks Author 2.3 can be downloaded through the Mac App Store. The software is free.
