Apple released iTunes 11.4 for the Mac and Windows on Tuesday with support for next week's release of iOS 8 for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The update will let users sync movies, music, and other content with devices running iOS 8.
Apple adds iOS 8 sync support in iTunes update for Mac and Windows
Apple announced during a media event yesterday that iOS 8 will be available as a free download on Wednesday, September 17. The company hosted the event to unveil the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, along with the Apple Watch.
iOS 8 will include support for iCloud Drive file storage and syncing, voice memos in Messages, a learning keyboard called QuickType that offers context-appropriate word suggestions, the ability to add widgets to Notification Center, extensibility that lets apps share data and features, and more.
iTunes 11.4 requires OS X 10.6.3 or later on the Mac and Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later on PCs. The update is available through Software Update, or as a download via Apple's support website.
