OS X 10.10.2 public beta hit over the weekend
The public betas give Apple a larger pool of users for pre-release testing that goes beyond developers. In theory, that larger pool should make it easier to find surprise bugs before releasing the update to the general public.
Apple hasn't said when OS X 10.10.2 will ship, but based on notes to developers it looks like the release will include fixes for WiFi connection issues, Mail, and VoiceOver. Users can participate in the beta testing process by signing up at the AppleSeed website.
