True to Apple CEO Tim Cook's promise, Apple TV pre-orders started on Monday morning. The new model is available in 32 GB and 64 GB sizes with a redesigned remote control and support for third-party apps. Mr. Cook also said it will ship at the end of the week.
Like the Apple TV it replaces, the new model supports streaming TV channels and other content from networks, streaming music, Netflix, Hulu,and the iTunes Store. Unlike the previous models, it also supports Apple Music, and third-party apps including games.
Apple also redesigned the Apple TV remote to include gesture-based navigation, and support for Siri voice commands.
You can pre-order the new Apple TV at Apple's website, or through the Apple Store app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. The 32 GB model costs US$149 and the 64 GB model is priced at $199. Free shipping will get your new Apple TV to you between November 2nd and 4th, or you can get yours between October 30th and November 3rd for about $17.
