Apple has posted an iPhone 4S eligibility check for AT&T and Verizon on the Apple Store. A check for Sprint customers will be coming “soon,” according to the website. The check allows existing customers to see when they will be eligible for a fully subsidized iPhone 4S, and what their current purchase price will be if they are not already eligible.
Apple announced the iPhone 4S during a media event in Cupertino, CA, on Tuesday. The new device features a faster processor, an innovative new antenna system, a better camera, and improved battery performance (see our full coverage for more information and specs).
The device is priced at US$199 for a 16GB model, $299 for 32GB, and $399 for 64GB, but that’s only for those who qualify for a fully subsidized purchase price. Pricing is otherwise $449, $549, or $649 for those purchasing an iPhone 4S directly. T
he eligibility check allows users to plug in their phone number and some billing information (see the images below) to find out if or when they qualify for the subsidized price.
