Apple released Apple TV Update 4.4.1 on Monday to address upgrade issues some users were experiencing after installing the new version 4.4 update. Apple later pulled the 4.4.1 update, however, after reports that users had to restore to earlier software versions to get their Apple TV working again after installing the update.
No Apple TV 4.4.1 update for you
The update was intended to fix a problem where some Apple TV owners had to connect their device to a computer after installing the 4.4 update. The update followed the release of iOS 5 and added AirPlay Sync and Photo Stream support, along with NHL content and Wall Street Journal Live.
Apple hasn’t said whether or not it plans to re-release the Apple TV 4.4.1 update, or bundle the fixes it included in a future update.
