It looks like some customers that bought Apple’s newest MacBook Air are experiencing display issues, but an internal Apple memo claims a fix is on the way.
The problems users are experiencing include display flickering or continually fading from bright to dark when the computer wakes up. The fix — until Apple releases a software update — is to close the MacBook Air lid, wait for the computer to sleep, then open the lid again.
Flickering display fix is on the way
The internal memo obtained by Boy Genius Report said that Apple Store employees should tell customers complaining about the display issues that the problem has been isolated and a fix is on the way in the form of a future software update.
While Apple’s stance may not please MacBook Air owners experiencing the problem now, it looks like the issue can be addressed with a software fix instead of hardware replacements.
