Apple may be ramping up for a special media event during the week of September 7. Apparently music industry sources have been more than happy to leak the information, according to AllThingsD, even though Apple is maintaining its usual tight-lipped stance.
The usual rumors surrounding a September media event have already begun to surface: New iPod models, an iPod touch update, and the ever popular Apple tablet rumor.
Despite the near-desperate plea from the media for an Apple tablet, there isn't any solid indication yet that such a device is in the works -- or that it is set for a September launch.
While Apple isn't commenting on whether or not a September media event is in the works, the company has used such events in the past to introduce new iPods, so expecting some type of Apple-hosted event during the month isn't much of a stretch.
