WellRedApps announced the immediate availability of DropKey for the Mac on Thursday. DropKey is a utility that lets users quickly encrypt and share files without needing to understand the cryptography.
DropKey for the Mac
DropKey uses 256-bit public-key cryptography, or public and private key sets to encrypt files and limit who can see the contents to only the people you share your public key with. The application supports drag-and-drop encryption, can auto-group multiple files into a single encrypted archive, and can add the encrypted files it creates to email messages as attachments.
Public keys from people that share files with you are stored in Address Book as part of their contact card.
Users that purchase through the WellRedApps website will receive a second license to share with a friend. If you purchase DropKey through the Mac App Store, can send a copy of their receipt to [email protected] for a free license to share.
DropKey requires OS X Lion. It is regularly priced at US$29.99, but is currently available from the WellRedApps website and Mac App Store for $19.99.
