Apple’s new iPhone 12 and Pro appear to be popular in China. According to data from licensed reseller Fenqile, seen by CNBC, as of Tuesday, 152,737 unit had been pre-ordered since that became available on Friday.
iPhone 12 and Pro Proving Popular in Pre-Orders
The data showed that around 43 percent of those are the iPhone 12, with over 28 percent are 12 Pro models. Despite not actually being available until next month, Fenqiile are actually taking preorders for the iPhone 12 mini and Pro Max. Indeed, just under 19 percent of its preorders are for the 12 Pro Max, with close to 10 percent for the mini. The data shows the ‘middle’ units in the range are attractive to customers in a crucial market. It follows analyst Ming-Chi Quo writing that preorders for the latest Apple smartphones in the first 24-hours beat those for the iPhone 11 in the same period.
