I believe that Apple will not allow a 2nd free year if you are already into a free year regardless of purchasing an iPhone 12 or a new Mac. You were given an extra 3 months to add to your free year which will expire in February.
As far as the bundles are concerned, I have zero use for Apple Arcade. So, if I have Apple Music = $10.00. Apple TV after February = $5.00. 200GB iCloud Storage = $3.00. Grand total = $18.00. They want to place me into the “Family” bundle for $19.95 a month which is about $1.95 a month more than I pay now which nets Apple $23.40 more per year. Now if I were able to customize my “Family” bundle and replace Arcade with Apple News +, I just might bite on that offer but, Apple is not offering customization of the offered bundles. So from my number crunching, I fall behind by taking the “Family” bundle.
In addition the the above, Netflix with 4K data is going up form $15.99 to $17.99. Also looks like my Xfinity Data cap exceeded 1.2TB so now paying an additional $30.00 a month for unlimited data. Many content providers like 6 Colors are holding out for monthly subscriptions for subscription only content. So, everyone wants more money for content from the ISPs, content providers as well as on-line news sites.
In conclusion there just no end to the fees that companies and providers want to slap on you in order to improve their profit margin. Wonder what will happen if everyone goes to to consumer well too many times especially in a pandemic with economic stress?
