Berkshire Hathaway likely made a US$50 billion gain on its investment in AAPL in 2020, Business Insider reported. It means that Warren Buffet’s firm has probably made over $90 billion profit on it’s Apple bet in under five years.
Warren Buffett AAPL up 78 Percent Over 2020
Between 2016 and 2018, Berkshire Hathaway invested around $35 billion in Apple, giving it an approximately 5.5 percent stake in the firm. The AAPL stock price has obviously rocketed since then, and the Berkshire Hathaway position was worth around $72 billion at the start of 2020. Mr. Buffett’s investment firm then sold nearly four percent of its stake in Q3 2020, but it was still worth $109 billion by the end of September. Business Insider, working on the basis that no further stock was sold, noted that the 78 percent rise in Apple’s stock price over the year means the stake was worth a total of $125 billion when 2020 ended.
