On Monday Apple announced that the Apple Watch Series 7 will be available to order Friday, October 8. It will be available in Apple retail stores on Friday, October 15.
Order Apple Watch Series 7
Available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, Apple Watch Series 7 is the most durable Apple Watch ever, with a stronger, more crack-resistant front crystal. It is the first Apple Watch to have an IP6X certification for resistance to dust, and maintains a WR50 water resistance rating. At just 1.7 mm thin, the narrower borders of Apple Watch Series 7 maximize the screen area of the display while minimally changing the dimensions of the watch itself.
Apple Watch Series 7 also features a user interface optimized for the larger display, a new QWERTY keyboard, plus two unique watch faces — Contour and Modular Duo — designed specifically for the new device. Users benefit from the same all-day 18-hour battery life, now complemented by 33% faster charging with the new USB-C charging cord.
Apple Watch Series 7 introduces five new aluminum case finishes, including midnight, starlight, green, and a new blue and (PRODUCT)RED, along with a range of new band colors and styles. Stainless steel models are available in silver, graphite, and gold stainless steel, along with Apple Watch Edition in titanium and space black titanium.
100 years late, but… I saw my first Series 7, on the wrist yesterday, very impressed. I like bigger chunkier watches and always thought the Watch design to be ugly and too small. The 45mm Series 7 is finally starting to look like a watch to me, bigger body with almost useful screen. The price won’t get me to replace my Series 3, but it’s making it look sad. Gives me hope for the future, even if they don’t get any any bigger or chunkier, I should be able to get a decent 7 cheap at some stage given Tim Cook’s proclivity for selling old models at slightly reduced prices.
Andrew:
The more crack-resistant front crystal will be welcomed by yours truly.
When series 0 launched, I managed to break 3 watches in a row until I figured out what part of my workout routine was responsible (remarkably, Apple replaced every single one of them without complaint).
However, even with my series 6, I did manage to seriously scratch/crack the crystal with impact (my forearm extended beyond the mat and hit the hard surface). I was hoping that Apple would release the rumoured active/robust version of the Apple Watch. Hopefully, this improved crystal will suffice.
There really does need to be a more impact resistant version for active wear.
