Apple has started rolling out the third developer beta of visionOS 2, the operating system for Apple Vision Pro, to developers. Similar to iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 third betas, it closely follows the second developer beta of visionOS 2, released two weeks ago. It comes with the build number, 22N5277g.
As usual, registered developers can jump into the updates by heading to Settings > Software Update > Beta Updates option and installing the available developer beta update. We have often warned against installing the developer betas, especially on your primary device(s). These are pre-release software intended for developers and testers, and regular users must avoid installing them.
visionOS 2 is due to release this fall, while its public beta is anticipated to debut next month. Meanwhile, Apple has dropped plans to launch a successor of Apple Vision Pro, and the company is instead working on bringing an affordable variant of the mixed-reality device. In this way, the next mixed-reality device from Apple is at least one and a half years away. And given that Apple Vision Pro is about to launch in most countries outside the U.S., it’s a classic move.
On the side of visionOS 2 beta 3 for developers, Apple is also rolling out third beta versions of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, macOS Sequoia, and tvOS 18. You can check the full release notes of the visionOS 2 Beta 3 here.
