Apple has released the fourth developer beta of iOS 17.6, along with corresponding updates for iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS. While Apple’s primary focus is currently on the upcoming next-gen OSes for the fall, this latest beta indicates that iOS 17.6 will still bring changes.
With iOS 17’s core features already available, it’s anticipated that iOS 17.6 will primarily concentrate on improving existing functionalities, eradicating bugs, and optimizing overall system performance. One confirmed new feature is the “Catch Up” option in the TV app, which was designed to quickly update sports viewers on games they join in progress.
While the “Catch Up” feature is the only confirmed addition thus far, more features could emerge as beta development progresses. Developers can choose between running iOS 17.6 or iOS 18 beta cycles simultaneously.
The company is expected to release the final version of this update before unveiling its next generation of operating systems later this year.
