Apple is offering PlayStation owners an extended three-month free trial of its on-demand video service, Apple TV+. The promotion runs through September 22, 2024, and is available to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users in participating countries.
To be eligible, you must have a PlayStation Network account and an Apple ID. If you meet those requirements and have a PS4 or PS5, this is how you can sign up:
- Open the Apple TV app on your PS4 or PS5 console (you can find it in the TV and Video section of the PS4’s XrossMediaBar and in the Media Home on the PS5).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to redeem the offer, which will involve signing in with your Apple ID (or creating one if you don’t already have it).
- Once you’ve redeemed the offer, you can watch Apple TV+ content on your PS4, PS5, and other devices with the Apple TV app.
As with past promotions, the three-month trial only applies to “new and qualified returning Apple TV+ subscribers,” PlayStation says. If you’ve already signed up for a month-to-month Apple TV+ subscription and are paying for it out-of-pocket, the trial won’t reduce your bill, in other words.
If you don’t cancel the trial before it ends after three months, you’ll be automatically converted to a $10-per-month Apple TV+ subscription in the US.
Apple TV+ is one of the key services in Apple’s portfolio, and the company has invested heavily in content to grow its subscriber base. It is now the 6th biggest streaming service in the US.
