“There is no writer working in Hollywood today who is more capable of capturing such an extraordinary life for the screen than Aaron Sorkin,” Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal told The Wrap Movies. “In his hands, we’re confident that the film will be everything that Jobs himself was: captivating, entertaining, and polarizing.”
Mr. Jobs’s official biography debuted in the number one spot in October 2011, shortly after the man passed away. The book was the only biography that Mr. Jobs approved and participated in.
Sony bought the movie rights to Mr. Isaacson’s book before it was published. The film will be produced by Mark Gordon, Scott Rudin, and Guymon Casady.
An independent Jobs bio-pic is in the works, too, with Ashton Kutcher playing Steve Jobs. That movie isn’t associated with Mr. Isaacson’s biography, and is not linked to Sony.
Along with Mr. Kutcher as Steve Jobs, the indy film will feature “The Book of Mormon’s” Josh Gad as Steve Wozniak.
Sony hasn’t announced production dates yet for its official biography movie adaptation.
