One of the most popular mobile games is about to meet one of the most popular film franchises of all time. Angry Birds Star Wars, first hinted at last week, will launch November 8 on iOS, Android, OS X, and Windows, the game’s trailer, released Monday, revealed.
Created in 2009 by Finnish game studio Rovio Entertainment, Angry Birds was originally released as an iPhone exclusive title. Since then, the company has expanded the game onto a multitude of mobile and desktop platforms, including OS X, Windows, Android, and major game consoles.
The simple, yet highly addicting, game has won numerous awards and has spawned five sequels with over one billion downloads across all platforms.
Most recently, Rovio released Bad Piggies, a spin-off game that gives players the opportunity to play as the pigs, the primary targets for the birds in the main franchise.
As casual gamers await the launch of Angry Birds Star Wars, Rovio has promised more updates at the game’s website.
