Hard Drive Slowing You Down? Switch To RAM Reliant

ProVUE Development announces the release of Panorama 4.0.1, introduced today. Panorama 4.0.1 is a maintenance release that also includes several significant new features, including automatic guides, improved image support, several new wizards and a new personal use license.

Panorama, first launched on the Macintosh in 1988, offers a RAM based alternative to traditional disk based database software. Panorama 4.0 improves performance and usability on the Macintosh. Instead of using the relatively slow hard drive, Panorama operates on data directly in the computeris high speed RAM. By eliminating the bottleneck of the mechanical components in a hard drive, Panorama accelerates many database operations by a factor of over 100,000 to 1.

Every operation is accelerated, including sorting, searching, summarizing, data manipulation and changes to database structure. Todayis typical system configurations allow all but the very largest database applications to be handled using RAM memory (for example, a typical 32 megabyte RAM allocation allows a mailing list with over 1/2 million names and addresses).

You can find more information about the Panorama update at the ProVUE Web site. Panorama 4.0.1 is available for US$299.00. Updates from 4.x are free.
