This session delves “under the hood” of iOS to explore topics that go beyond the basics of what you’ll find in typical iOS manuals. For starters, you’ll learn about the iOS-related files stored on your Mac (from firmware updates to app files to backup files) – where they are and how they can be accessed to solve a variety of iOS problems. 

The session also covers hints and tips regarding iOS file sharing, AirPrint, AirPlay, and more. It explains how and why to use iOS-related Mac utilities such as iPhone Configuration Utility, DiskAid, PhoneView, and others. It similarly covers iOS-installed system utilities.

The Mac Observer Managing Editor Jeff Gamet will be showing how you can use cloud-based services to keep the data and files on your Mac, iPhone and iPad in sync at Macworld Expo 2011. Jeff’s session starts at 3:30PM pacific time on Friday, January 28.

When you have a song – either your own or your interpretation of someone else’s – GarageBand is one of the fastest and easiest ways to get it out of your head and onto “tape.” This session shows you how to record, mix, and master a song in under an hour with GarageBand ‘11. Watch and listen as Dr. Mac lay down drum, bass, guitar, and vocal tracks, creates a stereo mix, considers sweetening options, and masters a song he’d be proud to share with producers, artists, or friends, all in less than an hour.
