Apple Pay is set to launch in the Czech Republic on February 19th, according to local media reports. A number of financial institutions are poised to be part of the service (via AppleInsider).
Multiple Reports of Same Launch Date
Apple Pay will go live in the Czech Republic at 6 am local time on February 19th, local outlet Letem svetem Applem reported Wednesday. This backed up a reported from another Czech outlet, iDNES.cz, which said last week the service would launch on that date. There had previously been rumors the service was coming to the country in late-February/early-March. Slovaks were also thought to be getting Apple Pay during that time period.
Financial institutions expected to be involved in the Czech launch include Air Bank, Ceska sporitelna, Komercni bank, Monet, mBank, and Twisto. Others, such as CSOB, are expected to become part of Apple Pay later in 2019.
