One of our roles at TMO when it comes to providing Macworld coverage is to allow you, the reader, to visit the show vicariously. Of course, there is the literal example of that, our photo galleries (we published seven photo galleries from the show), and those are always very popular.
But much of our written coverage is also intended to show you, the reader who couldn't be at the Expo, all the cool things that are being demonstrated. It's a rough job, but someone has to get out there and see everything!
Then Andrew Darlow, a photographer on hand for the event, showed me the following image he took after the keynote:

When I looked at this image, the first thing I thought about was "Ha! That's how I feel at Macworld!"
I was mostly joking, but the more I thought about it, the more I was thinking, "If there was some way I could convey that feeling to our readers, they might see how we sometimes feel at the end of the week long blitzkrieg of sights, sounds, smells, feelings, hustle, bustle, throngs of people, press of crowds, and BAM!!!! that is the Macworld we know and love."
Accordingly, I decided to simply publish the image and try to explain it all, which is what you just read. If you've ever spent four days at a trade show, it likely makes sense. If you've ever crammed for a test for 36 hours without sleep, you'll also likely understand.
If not, welcome to Macworld. :-)
