I think with the latest iteration of the Surface Books (Surface Book 2) MS has shown that they can give Apple’s MBP a run for its money. A touch screen, combined with a stylus, provides a much better user experience vs Touch Bar.
I used to disagree that Apple missed the boat when it came to making macOS touch-enabled. Now, I’m not so sure. MS might be right that the future of the tablet & the laptop is a marriage between the two.
On the other hand, Neil Cybart has an interesting theory on what he thinks Apple may be doing with respect to product strategy. Worth the read
