Starbucks and Apple are working together to offer the Starbucks iTunes (RED) eGift basket, a combination Starbucks and iTunes gift card where 5 percent of the US$30 purchase price will be donated to Project (RED).
The promotion coincides with a Starbucks promotion for World AIDS Day where the company will donate $0.05 for every “handcrafted” beverage sold in it U.S. and Canadian stores. For those keeping score at home, those drinks include Peppermint Mocha, Skinny Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Gingerbread Latte, and Eggnog Latte.
The Starbucks iTunes (RED) eGift Basket
“Give a gift that gives back this holiday season with Starbucks iTunes (RED)™ eGift basket,
Starbucks wrote in a statement. “You can send loved ones a thoughtful gift of two digital eGifts—$15 eGift to Starbucks and $15 eGift to iTunes—for $30. Plus, for every gift sold, Starbucks and iTunes will together contribute 5% of the purchase price to the Global Fund to help deliver an AIDS free generation by 2015.”
The gift card is available online—note that the URL is cashstar.com, but that's the legit place to buy it. The total price is $30, with half of that being for iTunes purchases, and the other half for Starbucks.
