Apple just gave its Apple Store app a refresh, introducing a Go Further tab for a “fresh, more curated experience” on iPhones and iPads. It now provides recommendations for products and services that are more pertinent, along with additional details. For example, it might suggest compatible accessories for your iPhone and explain new features you can explore with newly updated software.
While it may be seen as a micro update, it proves useful for many people who want to know what their devices are capable of, including information on supported accessories.
“To create a personalized shopping experience, we’ll collect and use data about your device, Apple account, Apple Store shopping activity, and Apple subscriptions,” Apple explains. “Privacy is important, and we want to be clear about what we’re collecting and how we will use it. You can modify these at any time in Account Settings.”
The navigation bar has been updated: “Shop” is now “Products” and “Sessions” is now “Go Further.” In the “For You” section, you’ll find offers like free trials for Apple Music and Apple TV+. By the way, do you know you can get 2 months of free Apple Music using Shazam? It was previously 4 or 3 months, but 2 months of free Apple Music is still a good offer.
In the “Products” section, you can explore new items and shop for accessories. The “Go Further” tab shows nearby Today at Apple sessions, helps with device setup, and provides device support. Apple has introduced a new optional feature for collecting data. Apple states they collect data on your shopping and subscriptions to improve suggestions, but you can choose not to share this info with Apple.
You can download the Apple Store from the App Store, and it’s free.
