iSkin has introduced the Summit messenger bag style iPad case and it won’t go unnoticed. It is deeply padded in a quilted pattern, made from Italian nylon, very lightweight, and very bright and shiny. Both the original iPad and the iPad 2 with the Apple Smart Cover fit comfortably inside the bag.

The messenger strap is heavy duty and detachable. The rings that hold the strap are sturdy and attached securely to the bag. The bag, which is water resistant, closes with a heavy gauge zipper.
The Summit is available in gray, purple, green, turquoise, red, and black. The MSRP is US$95.00. I did not find it available anywhere other than the iSkins web site. There is a 6 month manufacturer’s warranty.
Using the Product
This bag is very light weight. The only weight seems to come from the filling inside the quilted pockets that make up the outside composition. On first look it is easy to assume that the case is fragile because of the stitching in the nylon, but I think that is a false assumption. The case is put together very well and with lots of attention to strength and detail. The adjustable messenger strap allows for different heights and needs and it is very comfortable to carry for a long period of time.
Do I recommend it?
I have some concerns over the price and it may turn some buyers away, but it most certainly will provide excellent protection for either version of the iPad. The messenger bag design is excellent for many users and I found that I enjoyed the benefit of having the instant access to my iPad that the messenger bag design afforded.
