The Barely There case for iPhone 4 and 4S by Case·Mate is constructed from a hard plastic and contains a brushed aluminum inlay. It is very thin, yet very strong. The case package features an image of the case being hit with a hammer. It’s available in black or silver. The design is form fitting and covers the back and all the corners with a large opening for the camera. It fits phones from AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and International carriers.

The case back actually looks like brushed metal. It is very sleek and sophisticated looking. It is difficult for a photo to demonstrate how attractive these cases are if one likes sleek and thin cases. The MSRP is US$40.00, but I found them on Amazon for about half that.
Using the product
It’s easy to insert and remove the phone because there is just enough flexibility to the case. It doesn’t feel slippery in the hand because of the brushed finish, and it easily slips into a pants pocket or a pocket in a bag or purse. Although the sides are well protected, the sides do not overlap the top to the point of interfering with typing. I did not test out the whole “hit it with a hammer” claim. I mean — I love you guys and all that, but it’s my iPhone we’re talking about.
The case is compatible with the iPhone 4 and 4S.
Do I recommend it?
I do. If it is a style that appeals then you can rely on the fact that it is well made and should hold up to your everyday wear and tear. And if you can find it on sale it will be a good buy as well.
