More news about the iPhone 16 hardware is surfacing. Reportedly, the iPhone 16 will feature a new thermal management system designed to prevent the overheating issues that users faced with some previous models.
According to The Information, the iPhone 16 models will include a “larger graphite sheet” inside the chassis to help dissipate heat and prevent the devices from potentially overheating, citing a person familiar with the matter. This report supports a rumor from November of last year that claimed the iPhone 16 models would include an upgraded thermal management system.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 16 series in September, and the company has already begun production of the new devices. We should find out soon just how effective the new thermal management system is.
This news follows the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max overheating controversy. Some users faced heating issues with last year’s lineup immediately after the launch. Apple eventually fixed the problem with software updates, but the company is now planning to make internal changes to the iPhone 16 models to avoid a similar situation entirely.
Besides the new thermal management system, the iPhone 16 series will introduce numerous improvements, including larger displays, improved cameras, a new processor, and more. And of course, we can’t forget Apple Intelligence, which will become available to the public with iOS 18.
