Apple: No White iPhone 4 Until July

“White models of Apple’s new iPhone 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected,” the company said in a statement.

Only the black iPhone 4 model was available for pre-order and reservation, and Apple’s online store shows the white model as “unavailable for pre-order or in-store pickup.” The black version will, however, be available for the June 24 launch event.

The iPhone 4 offers several improvements over the iPhone 3GS such as a higher resolution display, longer battery life, a higher resolution camera with LED flash, a faster processor, and better antennas. The 16GB model is priced at US$199, and the 32GB model costs $299.
