icrosoft has released its long-awaited input device driver for OS X, bringing the IntelliPoint software to version 2.1.0. The new release allows Mac OS X users to take advantage of all the buttons on Microsoftis popular mice. The driver supports:
- IntelliMouse Explorer

- Optical Trackball
- Trackball Explorer
It is a 2.2MB download available from Microsoftis Web site.
The package uses Appleis software installer and requires a restart of your machine. After that it resides in your System Preferences as the Microsoft Mouse Preference Pane, and its operation is practically identical to the OS 9 version. The Preference Pane itself launches a standalone application that actually controls the drivers.
The system requirements list Mac OS X 10.1.2 and 15MB of available disk space.
