Adobe Captivate 5 for the Mac
The application can build tests into training modules, supports the SCORM database format that’s popular in educational environments, and test results can be stored on Acrobat.com as well. A special Adobe AIR-based application is available, too, for reading test result data that’s stored on Acrobat.com.
Captivate 5 lets users keep multiple training projects open at the same time, monitors placed files for changes, can import video from popular formats such as MOV, AVI, MPEG and FLV, and lets users exchange and review content from projects. A widget is also available that lets trainers and students interact on Twitter.
Along with Captivate 5, Adobe will be offering its eLearning Suite 2 for Mac OS X. The suite includes Captivate 5, Photoshop CS5 Extended, Flash Professional CS5, Dreamweaver CS5, Acrobat 9 Pro and Soundbooth CS5.
Captivate 5 requires Mac OS X 10.5.7 or higher, and an Intel-based Mac.
Captivate 5 is priced at US$799 and eLearning Suite 2 costs $1,799. Both are available for pre-order now and should ship in June.
