Adobe Lightroom adds custom Aperture and iPhoto importer
Lightroom is Adobe's pro-level photo management and editing app for the Mac. Apple's pro photo manager, Aperture, is being deprecated along with iPhoto in the coming months in favor of the new Photos app. Apple dropped the news on Aperture and iPhoto users in July saying,
With the introduction of the new Photos app and iCloud Photo Library, enabling you to safely store all of your photos in iCloud and access them from anywhere, there will be no new development of Aperture. When Photos for OS X ships next year, users will be able to migrate their existing Aperture libraries to Photos for OS.
Not everyone was excited about the change, so Adobe announced it was adding an import feature to Lightroom that would make it easy to migrate from Aperture and iPhoto. Along with the new importer, Lightroom 5.7 update includes updated RAW support for 24 more cameras, and the ability to read comments and feedback from Lightroom web.
Lightroom 5.7 is a free update and is included in Adobe CC and Adobe CC 2014.
