It looks like LG has begun rolling out support for AirPlay 2 and Homekit for some of its 2018 smart TVs. Macrumors readers spotted the update on Monday.

Initially, LG said only models from 2019 and later would support the Apple tools. The company could not “guarantee” a “seamless user experience” on older models,” it said. However, there was a huge change.org petition (22,629 signatories at the time of this writing) and the company now seems to have changed. Some LG smart TVs from 2018 now have the Apple TV app.
