Apple and Hyundai to Sign Electric Car Production Deal by March

Apple and Hyundai will sign a deal to partner on autonomous vehicles by March, Reuters reported, picking up on news coming from Korea. Full production will begin in  2024.

Apple Car ‘Beta’ Next Year

Within that timeline, there could be a “beta version” of the Apple car as early as next year.  The original, since edited, report from Korea said that the vehicle will be built at a Kia Motors factory in Georgia. Kia is an affiliate of Hyundai. Alternatively, Apple and Hyundai may jointly invest in a new plant. They intend to produce 100,000 vehicles in 2024, with a full annual capacity for the plant at 400,000. Neither company confirmed the latest reports. On Friday, it emerged that the two companies were ‘in discussions’ about collaborating on electric vehicles.
