Apple Drops Safari Technology Preview 199 With Bug Squashes

Apple is now rolling out a new update for Safari Technology Preview. It released Safari Technology Preview 199 approximately two weeks after rolling out Safari Technology Preview 198 to users.

The timing seems just right, as Apple recently rolled out the first public betas of the upcoming batch of software updates as well as rolled out fourth developer betas of iOS 17.6, iPadOS 17.6, visionOS 1.3, and so on.

Apple launched the experimental browser, Safari Technology Preview, in March 2016 to test new features that might come to future Safari releases.

As usual, Safari Technology Preview 199 brings several fixes and improvements to Apple Pay, CSS, Editing, Javascript, Media, Rendering, and WebRTC. You can read the full Safari Technology Preview 199 release notes. There are no major improvements (or new features), as that’s the case with most of the Safari Technology Preview versions, but you can try out the upcoming features beforehand.

The browser is available to anyone who has it installed and works alongside Safari on Mac without any hassle. Apple seeks feedback from users before rolling out the features to the final, stable version.
