Apple European Exec Named To Online Bank’s Board

Another Apple executive has been tapped to sit on a board of director. Pascal Cagni, Apple’s Vice President and General Manager Europe, Middle East and Africa, has been named to the board of Egg, a European online banking firm that has been aggressively expanding its operations throughout Europe. The firm cited Mr. Cagni’s work with digital technology in helping to bring customers to the bank’s services. This reflects well on his work at Apple. From Egg:

Egg plc ("Egg") is pleased to announce the appointment of Pascal Cagni to the Egg Banking board as a Non-Executive Director, with immediate effect.

Mr. Cagni, 41, is Vice President and General Manager Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Apple where he has been instrumental in developing Apple’s increasing presence across EMEA. During his career, Mr. Cagni has held senior positions at leading international technology companies including Packard Bell, NEC Computer International and Compaq.

Commenting on the appointment, Roberto Mendoza, Chairman of Egg plc, said:|

"We are delighted to welcome Pascal to the Egg Banking board. Pascal will bring a wealth of relevant experience to the Board, particularly in supporting Egg’s drive to help consumers use digital technology to improve their understanding and management of their money."

"His wide experience in technology and international business will be of great value to the Board as we continue to lead the digital financial services industry and develop our business internationally."

The Mac Observer Spin:

OK, first of all, "Egg" is about a really bad name. No, it *is* a really bad name. Your mileage may vary.

That out of the way, we are delighted to see another Apple executive tapped to sit on a Board. This means that Apple is getting increased credibility from the corporate space, and that will pay other dividends.
