Realmac Software on Monday introduced a revision to its Web design application RapidWeaver and debuted the audio recording software AudioExpress. The company made the announcements during this week’s Apple Expo in Paris, which became a more low-key affair after Apple CEO Steve Jobs cancelled his keynote address at the show, preferring instead to hold a recent press event at which he unveiled the iPod nano and the iTunes-enabled Motorola ROKR cell phone.
New features found in RapidWeaver 3.2 include a built-in media inspector that allows users to resize, flip and rotate photos. In addition, there’s a new theme variation system for applying different themes to different pages on a Web site. Other changes include blog categories, styled sidebar text and more.
The upgrade, which is free for existing users, will ship early next month, although it’s available now as a public Beta. The full version of RapidWeaver is US$34.95. Mac OS X v10.3 or v10.4 is required.
AudioExpress 1.0 records sound from a Mac’s built-in microphone or from an external source. Recordings can be easily imported into iTunes and then uploaded to an iPod. The software can record, pause, stop, snip and sync audio as well as employ AppleScript for integration with other scriptable applications.
AudioExpress 1.0 will ship on Sept. 29 with a $19.95 price tag. Mac OS X v10.3 or v10.4 is required.
