Apple is rolling out Safari Technology Preview 198 update with support for macOS 15 Sequoia beta and macOS Sonoma. It comes hot on the heels of the recently released second public beta for macOS 14.6, which was released alongside second public betas of iOS 17.6, iPadOS 17.6, and so on.
The latest Safari Technology Preview 198 update includes fixes and improvements for CSS, Forms, JavaScript, Media, and more.
Apple launched the experimental browser, Safari Technology Preview, in March 2016 to test new features that might come to future Safari releases.
It’s available to anyone who has the browser installed. Additionally, it runs alongside the Safari app on Mac, so you needn’t be bothered. Regular users should avoid installing this, as it’s mainly intended for developers to try out upcoming features. In turn, Apple seeks feedback from them before rolling the new features to the final version.
You can get the update by checking for updates in System Preferences or System Settings if you already have the browser installed. Furthermore, if you want to check out the full release notes, you can check it here.
