AS VEGAS — Attendees at the 2005 National Association of Broadcasters trade show in Las Vegas voted Apple products among the top five in two different categories, the NAB trade group announced late on Wednesday. Appleis Final Cut Pro 5, which was announced Sunday, April 17th, and QuickTime Broadcaster were each selected as one the top five new products in their respective categories.
Voting for the Awards for Innovation in Media (AIMs) was conducted by attendees at the show on April 18th and 19th. Five products were chosen for each category, including Content Creation, Content Management, and Content Delivery.
“NAB attendees are specially positioned to recognize the hottest products emerging into the marketplace, NAB President and CEO Edward O. Fritts said in a statement. “The NAB would like to extend its congratulations to all of the 2005 AIM winners who received this esteemed recognition.”
Final Cut Pro 5 was voted one of the top five Content Creation products, along with Avidis Media Composer Adrenaline HD 2.1, Avidis Symphony Nitris, the JVC GY-HD100U 3-CCD HD Camera Recorder, and the Sony HDCAM SR/HDCAM Dual Format Recorder.
Appleis QuickTime Broadcaster was voted one of the top five Content Management systems. Global Microwave Systemsi High Definition Messenger Transmitter (HDMT), NewTekis TriCaster, Omneonis Spectrum(TM) Media Server, and the Smart AV Smart Console rounded out the rest of the category.
The Association also said that a panel of editors fromkey industry publication would review all of the AIM winners, and select a top winner for each category. These overall winners will be announced on Thursday, April 28th.
