Apple’s App Store
Apple used the “There’s an app for that” line to highlight the diversity of software titles for the iPhone and iPod touch in at its App Store. According to Trademarkia, the trademark covers “retail store services featuring computer software provided via the Internet and other computer and electronic communication networks; retail store services featuring computer software for use on handheld mobile digital electronic devices and other consumer electronics.”
The trademark will make it easier for Apple to stop competitors from using the catchphrase with their own mobile device app stores and underscores just how much Apple wants to protect every property it uses in conjunction with the iPhone.
Apple’s App Store is home to thousands of iPhone, iPod touch and iPad compatible applications. The company recently relaxed its guidelines that limited how developers could build their apps, so even more titles are likely to find their way onto iOS-based devices soon.
