Aspyr Media on Monday announced that this summer it will publish CSI: Dark Motives, the follow-up to the CSI: Crime Scene Investigations game that the company released late last year. Like its predecessor, Dark Motives places gamers in the shoes of a forensic detective tasked with solving five crimes that have happened throughout Las Vegas. Players visit crime scenes, utilize forensic tools to collect evidence, interview suspects and try to connect the puzzle pieces.
In the same vein as the first release, Dark Motives also features the character likenesses and real cast voices from the hit TV show. Comments from reviews of the PC version of the game indicate that the graphics have been improved and the criminal cases pose more of a challenge this time around. Aspyr is publishing the game under a license from UbiSoft, which released the PC edition in March 2004.
While Aspyr doesn’t have a product page up on its Web site yet, it did release system requirements, which call for Mac OS X v10.3.8, a G4 or G5 processor running 700MHz or faster, 256MB RAM (512MB recommended), 2.3GB of free hard drive space, a Radeon 7500 or GeForce 2 MX video card with 32MB RAM or better and a DVD drive. Pricing will be US$29.99.
