Lines have been forming outside Apple Stores ahead of the iPad 2 launch, and Best Buy, Walmart and Target have all confirmed their stores will have at least limited quantities available this evening.
Apple’s iPad 2 won’t be available at some reseller locations
Some Authorized Apple Resellers hoping to offer the second generation version of the multimedia tablet to their customers this evening aren’t going to be receiving shipments even though they placed product orders shortly after the iPad 2 was announced earlier this month. Authorized Apple Reseller locations The Mac Observer spoke with confirmed their orders wouldn’t be arriving in time for tonight’s product launch.
With at least some Authorized Apple Resellers out of the mix for tonight’s product rollout, potential customers hoping to get their hands on an iPad 2 today will need to wait in line at the larger retailers or Apple’s own stores.
The iPad 2 is the second generation version of its multimedia tablet device. It sports a 9.7-inch multi-touch display, dual-core A5 processor, front and rear-facing digital cameras, FaceTime video chat support, a built-in gyroscope, GSM and CDMA 3G wireless data support, black or white color options, and more.
