Apple has reportedly begun to contact developers who eligible for its new App Store Small Business Program. This allows those developers who earn under $1 million a year from the App Store to pay 15 percent, not 30 percent, of revenue in fees.
App Store Small Business Program Starts January 1
Applications have been open since December 3. An email, seen by MacRumors, told the recipient that the 50 percent drop begins on January 1, 2020 “so you can invest more resources into your business to continue building quality apps that customers love.” Apple was keen to emphasize the benefits the arrangement will bring to such developers. However, it has also faced criticism – most notably, and least surprisingly, from the boss of Epic Games.
