The Mozilla Group announced on Wednesday that they have elected to release RC2 of Firefox 3 prior to the final releases expected in mid-June. The release has just a few additional fixes since RC1 and should be posted some time on Wednesday.
“The Firefox 3 development team has decided to produce a new Release Candidate of Firefox 3 before shipping. This should not change the final shipping date, still estimated for mid-June, but will allow a small number of additional fixes for issues discovered during the RC1 cycle. Many of the issues to be fixed in RC2 have already been patched, reviewed, approved and landed. Several localization updates have also been accepted,” the Mozilla Group said.
The Release Candidate 2 is expected to be posted on Wednesday, but as of this writing, the download page has not been updated from RC1.
