Forget iOS 18, iOS 18.4 Will Be Real Game Changer for Siri

Apple’s upcoming software update, iOS 18.4, is expected to be released next spring and will reportedly bring a huge upgrade to Siri 2.0. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new Siri will have better capabilities, including precise control over actions within Apple’s apps and the ability to understand the context of what’s on your screen.

Apple Intelligence launches this fall, but it won’t include the full Siri upgrade. Instead, Gurman reports that Siri’s new features are likely to enter beta testing for developers in January and then be available to the public around springtime as part of iOS 18.4.

This isn’t the only Siri improvement coming up. A new design and integration with ChatGPT are also expected to arrive later this year.

Gurman also provided updates on other Apple products. The Apple Watch Series 10 and Ultra 3 will reportedly have larger displays and a new chip. Apple Watch SE might get a plastic body, but major design changes seem unlikely. These watches won’t have Apple Intelligence initially, and some health features, like blood pressure monitoring, might face delays due to technical hurdles.

Apple Intelligence is coming to iPhone, iPad, and Mac this fall, with plans to reach the Vision Pro headset next year. However, those hoping to use these features on their Apple Watch or HomePod (potentially with a screen) will likely have to wait.
