This mouse fits very comfortably in smaller hands, but is not so small that larger hands can not handle it with ease. The 2.4GHz digital cordless technology works up to 10 feet away and delivers interference-free operation.
Genius Travler 900 Wireless Mouse
As clearly stated in the accompanying literature, it should not be used on glass or mirror surfaces. Indeed, when tested on my glass desk I found that it was almost impossible to control the exact location of my cursor. However, when used with a standard mouse pad it worked perfectly.
Also promised in company literature is the ability to be interference free and when I tested it I did so in a large room with approximately 30 others using Macs, and a sound system set up within 3 feet of my location. There was no interference of any kind. The mouse requires 2 AAA batteries and the company literature states that the design provides an extended battery life of up to eight months. The mouse features 1600 dpi optical engine for enhanced tracking performance.
The mini Pico receiver is small enough to keep in your computer all the time, but you can also choose to store it inside the mouse when not in use. As a right handed person I often lament the absence of USB ports on the right side of my MacBook Pro because of the difficulty of working with a plugged in mouse. This is a particular problem when giving a public presentation with a small podium. For me, at least, it seems I am always messing around with the mouse cord to keep it out of the way, but make sure it reaches. It was a pleasure to use the Traveler 900 and eliminate that problem.
The roller button can be used for fast browsing up/down on the internet. It is available in black with silver trim, diamond ruby, champagne gold, blue gem and silver.
The Bottom Line
The Genius Traveler 900 wireless mouse is small and sturdy. It is about 3/4 the size of a regular Mac mouse. It features an extended battery life, enhanced tracking performance, and interference free performance. It flows easily when using and I like knowing I can keep it handy in my computer bag for use away from home.
