All of Vemedio's app pages, including Instacast, now say “discontinued”
In an email to subscribers, developer Martin Hering said,
I am sorry to inform you that Instacast andin fact all of Vemedio's products have been discontinued. I will cancel your upcoming membership payment shortly. We'll keep the servers running as long as we can.
Instacast was available for the Mac and iOS, and offered six month subscriptions for US$9.99, or one year subscriptions for $14.99.
With Instacast out of the mix, podcast listeners who don't want to use Apple's own Podcast app can check out Overcast (free with a $4.99 in-app purchase to unlock extra features), Downcast ($2.99), and Pocket Casts ($3.99).
